5 Ultra Luxury Yachts Purchased by Famous Fashion Designers

Ever wonder what fashion designers do in their leisure time? Yes, you’ve guessed it: Design and shop for yachts!

But these are not your average luxury yachts, oh no. All of them have been custom-made for the refined tastes of their owners. Here’s a glimpse of the top 5 luxury yachts owned by famous fashion designers:

1. Valentino Garavani’s T.M. Blue One Yacht

Named after his parents Teresa and Mauro, Valentino’s 46 meter long luxury yacht was built by Italian luxury boat maker The Perini Navi Group (Picchiotti) in 1988. Along with a Jacuzzi spa and a well-stocked mini bar, paintings of iconic artists like Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol are hung onboard. Sailing to exotic beach destinations and hosting lavish beach parties with celebrities, including the late Princess Diana, the boat means “peace” to the Roman designer. We bet anyone would be at peace with the world with such a big boy’s toy. Click here for a similar yacht that can be yours today.

2. Calvin Klein’s Vantage

It’s no surprise that millionaire fashion guru, Calvin Klein owns a 45.7 meter super yacht that is as sophisticated as his sleek and sharp style. Expertly constructed by Palmer Johnson and designed by Nuvolari & Lenard, the two-deck yacht houses six cabins upholstered in cream, brown and marble ensuite bathrooms. There is a roofed area decorated with skylights, offering comfortable relaxation pads and barbeque pits. Interestingly, this is where he hosted the 2011 Cannes Film Festival party. 3. Roberto Cavalli’s Roberto Cavalli

The life and soul of the high profile parties aboard the self-named yacht, Roberto Cavalli acquired this 42 meter jewelry boat specially designed for him by Tommaso Spadolini from Baglietto in 2005. Valued at $40 million, the boat is decorated with mink rugs, leopard-print pillows, and snakeskin-upholstered chairs. The interiors were designed by the Cavalli himself, where he is often spotted by the paparazzi soaking up the sun with his model girlfriend. The bright color-changing yacht has also been lent to close friends, including Jennifer Lopez, for private parties. With four guest cabins named after exotic animals, a private gym, eelskin-covered corridor walls and black toilet paper, they even have their own inflatable slide just for fun. 5. Giorgio Armani’s Main

Taking a whole three years to build, this 65 meter long megaboat was jointly designed by Milan-based architect Giancarlo Ortelli and Giorgio Armani himself, and built by Codecasa Yachts of Viareggio Tuscany at a cost of more than $60 million. Featuring seven deluxe suites, there is a sleek sundeck and spectacular spiral staircase in the camouflaging dark-green yacht. Although he prefers spending time with a few close friends rather than crowded parties on Main, his second yacht, he hosted a soiree there for the Cannes Film Festival in 2012.
