Chamber is a boutique of limited edition design, objects and art, in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City. The space’s unique concept and retail experience is the vision of Argentinian born Founder Juan Garcia Mosqueda. Taking the Renaissance-era “Cabinet of Curiosities” as its inspiration, Chamber aims to be a twenty-first century reliquary for unusual objects as well as a platform for design experimentation. Every two years, Garcia Mosqueda will choose a different designer or creative to curate the shop’s entire program, bringing their unique viewpoint to Chamber through specially- commissioned works and rare and vintage items.

Glacier is inspired by the Perito Moreno glacier in the Glaciares National Park in the south of Argentina, part of a UNESCO world heritage site and important center for biodiversity and wilderness. One of the most famous attractions in Patagonia, Perito Moreno is one of the largest fresh-water reservoirs worldwide, but is threatened by rising temperatures and dams planned in the region. As the artist's other carpet works, Glacier proposes a rethinking and awareness of the natural resources and landscapes that coexist and interact with human activity, specifically that of a melted glacier where water has taken over and not much ice is left.
