Extremely rare 18k yellow gold GMT ref. 1675, manufactured in 1964.
The present example represents a very rare "no crown guards" transitional model of the GMT Master .
Preserved in great condition, it features a gorgeous lacquered brown dial with nipple-shaped, luminous hour markers, leaf shaped hour and minute hands and the GMT hand with the small triangular luminous tip.
The charming brown bezel provides a warm harmony of color together with the gold case. Complete with 18k Rolex Oyster bracelet.
Definitely a great example of sporty elegance.
Introduced in 1959, reference 1675 was the immediate successor of the first Bakelite GMT reference 6542. The steel version was upgraded with crown guards and a metal bezel. The Gold version - as the present specimen - did not feature crown guards for another few years.
