A Regency tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl inlaid single 'Harlequin' Tea Caddy, first quarter 19th century, of canted rectangular form, the top and front with a chequered design, the front with a lozenge-shaped panel below the escutcheon initialled 'D'.
The canted angles, side and back all of tortoiseshell banded in mother-of-pearl, the interior with a chequered lid.

A comparable Tea Caddy sold at auction in 2004 for a hammer price of £5,800 and another sold in 2009 for a hammer price of £5,400.
