This is a rare 'Haute' Courier Trunk in Rayée (striped) canvas from Louis Vuitton, circa 1880's, long before the House started to manufacture trunks and boxes with monograms. This Courier Trunk features all steel hardware and handles on the sides, wooden slats, brass flat locks and studs. In its spacious interior, the Trunk features the original lining with two tray compartments. The inner side of the lid is quilted with thin violet ribbons. There is also the original label with the Trunk's number: 4766 and the year in which the Trunk was fabricated.
