This matching-numbers Mini Cooper Mk1 was delivered new to Australia in 1963. Presenting in Tartan Red under an Embassy Black roof, this example presents in immaculate condition having been subject to a complete body-off restoration in 2013. Not an expense was spared during the process and the flawless condition of the car today is a testament to the quality of work completed.

The PPG 2-pack paint is in outstanding condition and was professionally applied after a full almond-shell blast. The roof lining, carpets, trims were all refreshed at the time of restoration and a pair of Paddy Hopkirk rally seats were tastefully added. The undercarriage and engine-bay presents as well as the rest of the car; a tell-tale sign of a meticulously kept vehicle.

The original 997cc engine was fully rebuilt during the time of restoration and a number of upgrades were added making this example a pleasure to drive. A freshly rebuilt Mark II Cooper S gearbox replaced the old unit, Cooper S disk brakes and brake booster were installed. The engine was tuned by Graham Russell, upgraded extractors and a performance camshaft were added, giving this car an even sportier feel.
It is ready to be driven from the showroom floor and enjoyed.

Accompanying this car is a history file including an owner's manual, previous registration certificates and restoration list. An iconic car such as the Mk1 Mini Cooper would be an excellent addition to any collection, let alone one in such outstanding condition.

The Mini was introduced in 1959 and was revolutionary in many ways. The front-engine and front-wheel-drive layout allowed for a huge amount of interior space given the tiny exterior dimensions of the car. It was fuel efficient, fun to drive and relatively cheap which made it perfectly suited to the circumstances of 1959. For this reason, the Mini has become one of the most iconic motor vehicles every produced and has captured millions of hearts around the world.
