1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Tribute, Fast Car
The year was 1970. Bridge over troubled water was the top of the Billboard 100 Charts, Bell bottom jeans carried over from the late 60's, and Love Story was the #1 grossing film of the year at $106,397,186. It was a strange time for sure in pop culture, but one thing that was still alive and well were muscle cars. This was really there peak year for looks, horsepower, and coolness. The times were cool and so is this car. Just Toys Classic Cars is proud to present this cool 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Tribute. When these cars roamed the streets and that Saturday night stop light strip, they were hard to touch. They were just that fast. This beautiful is a tribute to that time. The fit and finish are in really great shape for the age of the car. It has been repainted once with in the last year and this yellow paint as you will see in the pics shines like a diamond. All you need to do with this car is hit it with some spray wax and hit the streets for a good time. The interior of this car is in great shape as well. There are no rips or tears in the seats, carpet, or headliner. There is one small crack on the passenger side of the dash, but nothing major at all. If you were born in 1970 you might have a small flaw or two on you by now. There is no radio that goes with this car. This is a good thing for two reasons. One, you can install whatever modern type radio you want and make it yours. Two, you could just listen to the sweet V8 music coming out of the tailpipes. To some, that is all the sweet music you need to hear. Ok, so enough about all this other stuff. Let's get to what made this car what it is, and that is that 454 under that hood. The 454 puts out an under rated 360 HP and enough bottom end torque to put a permanent ear to ear grin on your face and a permanent butt print in the driver seat. This is what made these cars famous on the stop light strip. This car runs very strong, and the automatic transmission shifts firm and solid like you would expect it to. All of this power goes out through a 12 Bold rear end so you know that you are not going to hurt this car. We do not know the gear ratio, but we know that it doesn't scream high RPM's on the highway so no drag racing gear ratios here. We just can not say enough about how cool this car is and its heritage that it represents. This truly is one of those cars that you just get in and hit the key and change the oil when it needs it, and replace tires when they wear out.
