With its ultimate 320 bhp, 4.9-liter V-8 and five-speed gearbox, the Bora was capable of zero-to-60 times of 6.6 seconds and a 170-mph top speed. Upon its launch, Le Mans champion and noted journalist Paul Frère described the Bora in these terms: “The Bora is one of the fastest cars on the market at the moment, but its charm lies mostly in the tranquil ease with which it reveals its prowess. A true aristocrat, indeed”. Road and Track Magazine also called it "one of the best-handling cars money can buy" while praising the communicative steering and well-sorted suspension. Just 564 Boras were built from 1971 to 1980, with 275, including this car, powered by a 320 bhp, 4,930 cc mid-mounted V-8 engine, ZF five-speed manual rear transaxle, four-wheel independent suspension with unequal-length A-arms, coil springs, anti-roll bars, and hydraulic four-wheel disc brakes. The vehicle offered here is an original California car finished in stunning Rosa Corsa Red with a Senape leather interior and has been driven just 36,621 miles from new. The car was purchased in the 1990's by a California Collector who would go on to own the car for close to two decades and is likely responsible for the vehicle's thorough restoration. After its release from this collection, It was purchased by a Marque Specialist in California who gave the car a thorough mechanical service before passing it on to another collector last year.
