**1994 Porsche 964 Speedster**

Of all the 911 Speedsters the 1994 is the rarest of them all. Based on the new Carrera 2 platform and designed to be a more focused "driver's car" the 94 Speedster served as a hybrid between a 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet and a 964 RS. Porsche planned to build 3000 examples, but only 936 were built and sold during the two years of production. Of the 936 cars only 427 Speedsters headed to the US. The last of the air-cooled speedsters they featured a raked windshield, chopped windows, and a manually operated twin humped rear cover that enclosed the convertible top.

This example was purchased new at Champion Motors in Pompano Beach, FL on 8/11/93 for $69,494. Later that month the owner drove the Speedster to his home in Ontario, Canada. He would drive the car only occasionally, and by 2003 the car had only accumulated 11,000 miles.

In October of 2008 the Speedster would return the United States to a new owner in Belvidere, IL. At this point the car had only 12,427 miles on the clock, and was purchased to be kept as a static collectable. A Porsche expert and reseller purchased the car earlier this year, and offered the car to us.

Since arriving at Canepa the Speedster has received over 100 hours of attention both mechanically and cosmetically to ensure it is in 100% mechanical condition, and visually ready to grace any concours lawn.
