A Very Fine George II Silver Coffee Pot London 1743 by Gabriel Sleath

**An excellent quality George II silver coffee pot of baluster form. With cast silver leaf capped swan neck spout, stepped domed lid with pine cone finial. The body embossed with floral and foliate decoration. One side with a vacant shaped cartouche. The lid with a band of decoration around the middle. Scrolled fruit wood handle with thumbpiece.**



**Marked to the body for London 1743 by Gabriel Sleath. Also marked to the bottom with the maker's mark. The inside of the lid is also marked with the lion passant and maker's mark.**



**A very good silver coffee pot of superb workmanship with no damage or repairs. The decoration is crisp and the lid and hinge are excellent. The wooden handle is firm and without chips or splits. Very clean to the inside. All the hallmarks are clear. Altogether a wonderful early pot by one of the greatest early 18C silversmiths. Lustrous colour and patina.**
