Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B #19 1938 Le Mans

US$470.00

It’s easy to be impressed by the 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B. It was unrivaled on the road and the track and was one of the most sophisticated race cars produced in the pre-war era. The automobile featured a special streamlined, super light coupe body. It was the culmination of more than a decade of Alfa Romeo progress and represented the ultimate advancement of road racing engineering at that time. It featured cutting edge technology such as a fully independent suspension and hydraulic brakes, and it was powered by a straight 8-cylinder engine that boasted an output of 220 hp that could accelerate up to 245km/hr. It was originally built for the 24 hour race of Le Mans in 1938, but despite its superior lead of 160km, the 8C was not able to finish. A tire blowout and a ruptured valve put an end to a seemingly certain victory. Following the race, the vehicle was repaired and sold into private hands. Today it resides at the Alfa Romeo Museum “Storico” and continues to charm visitors every year.

The CMC 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B #19 Le Mans integrates extraordinary craftsmanship and premium materials to bring this historic vehicle to life on your shelves.
