This 1890's French Empire-style secretaire is made of wood stained in a deep black color with a lacquered finish. At the top of secretaire is a small drawer with three larger drawers below the desk. The drawers have decorative brass drawer pulls and keyhole plates. On either side of the secretaire are carved columns with brass accents at the top and bottom. The drop down desk features a red embossed leather work area with gilt trim details. The back of the desk has storage options with an open shelf and seven smaller drawers. There is a grey and white marble slab on the top of the desk. This secretaire is sturdy, elegant, and ready to be used in any home or office for years to come.
