Built in 1933, this matching-numbers example presents in excellent restored condition. The restoration was completed in the late 90's, during which no expense was spared and attention to detail and originality was of high importance. The timber frame was rebuilt over the original steel chassis and the bodywork was taken back to bare metal and professionally resprayed. Today, showing only minor blemishes characteristic of an older restoration, the car presents in excellent condition. The interior was re-upholstered, and the timber dash refreshed. Presenting in a highly original fashion, this car truly is a time capsule.

During the time of restoration, the engine, gearbox and differential were overhauled. The result is a vehicle that drives beautifully, still showcasing all the driving characteristics of these classic cars. Ready to be driven from the showroom floor, this example would make an excellent club car or weekender.

As a highly unique piece of British motor history, the appeal of this stunning example has transcended generations. In highly original, and well-restored condition, this example would be an excellent addition to any collection.

In 1929, Sir John Black took over as managing director of Standard Motors. He encouraged the supply of complete Standard chassis to external coachbuilders such as Avon, which produced cars with a distinctly sporty appearance. These became known as Avon Standard Specials and catered to a niche market that was too small for Standard to cater to themselves. On a Standard 12 chassis, the Avon Standard Special utilised a side-valve 6-cylinder engine producing just over 20hp. This then-powerful engine combined with the cars uniquely sporty looks, making them highly desirable in their day and today alike. After extensive research through car historians, this Avon Standard "Little 12" model appears to be the only remaining example in the world, making it a failsafe investment and the perfect collectable.
