One morning during my visit, the sky was dark and the streets were lit. The modest colours remind me of 15th century Flemish paintings, where there is scarcely a clear direction of light. I searched for a palette to match this intimate atmosphere. I reduced the natural hues to a blue grey and brown grey. I used the red from the Shun Tak Centre as a complement to the blues and browns. The result is a still of dancing elements. In the distance the majestic IFC building gives stability to the composition.
