A classically English scene by George Cole (15 January 1810 – 7 September 1883) who was an English painter of landscapes and animals. He exhibited 16 works at The Royal Academy and 209 pictures at The Society of British Artists at Suffolk Street, from 1838 until his death in 1883. Cole was also elected Vice President of the Society in 1867
