Jeff Koons: Banality Service Plate

US$155.00

Koons' _Banality_ sculpture series, released in 1988, presents a commentary on American society and its insatiable appetite for glamorous commodities. Fashioned out of porcelain, these large works of kitsch present familiar and innocuous pop and historical motifs in disturbing, occasionally sexualized, contexts. To celebrate their 150th anniversary, Bernardaud, a French manufacturer of high-end luxury porcelain tableware, created a limited-edition collection of fine porcelain tableware that bears reproductions of Koons' uncanny artworks. This service plate displays Koons' piece_Michael Jackson and Bubbles_, 1988. Limited edition of 4,500. Dishwasher-safe.
