KK62120 – WING CHAIR

Price On Request

Kaare Klint designed his wing chair in 1941. For this high-backed chair, Klint designed a textile together with Danish weaver Lis Ahlmann, who wove it in linen. They used plain-colored indigo on the outside of the sides and back, and checkered indigo in unbleached yarn for the chairs inside surfaces and cushion. Later, the chair was upholstered with a similar textile in wool and cotton, which Lis Ahlmann designed for the Danish fabric manufacturer Cotil.

The chair is produced in mahogany and finished with piping. It can be upholstered in fabric or leather upon request.

The matching footrest, KK7116, is available for extra comfort.

Regarded as the godfather of modern Danish design, Kaare Klint (1888-1954) made a name for himself as a furniture designer in the early 1900s. He was responsible for such design icons as the world-renowned Safari Chair and the Faaborg Chair, and for the overall design of the Danish Pavilion at the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition
