Box and cover with torikabuto (dancer's hat) and cords resting on a chequered garment.

The black lacquer ground with induced craquelure overlaid with metal and lacquer; the sides of the box inlaid with bands of chequered decoration in oxidised lead overlaid with moon designs in shell and lacquer.
