Large fountain in Lumachella Veronese marble with Louis XIV motifs, from the area of Valpolicella - 20th century

US$1,379.25

Large rounded Lumachella Veronese marble fountain with ribs and Louis XIV style motifs on the front. Entirely hand carved and equipped with a base slab. Beautiful recovery from the area of Valpolicella, where the Venetian nobles spent the hot summers and had fun in the Veronese countryside. The fountain was removed from the wall of a noble villa and it is still in good condition of preservation. It is made of red-pink Lumachella marble, which was used to decorate many gardens of the noble residences of the Most Serene Republic. This item is very large and has a great effect but it is also interesting as a sculpture, with many peculiarities of the 18th century. It is recommended for those with a wide space to place it. No breaks, still with the original patina. Weight 430 kg approx. Height 130 cm, length 123 cm, width 53 cm, thickness cm 6. We will take care of the transportation upon agreement or it will be done by a specialised courier.
