Leaving a business career in 1929, Jean Royere, aged 29 turns to the decorator trade for which he feels a calling. Formed in the furniture factories in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine and inspired by a visionary spirit, he tries unlikely but happy marriage between materials and colors, shapes and ornaments.Undulations, chevrons, circles, curves cross, balls and balls come dressed furniture, install an "atmosphere". Pretext for all freedoms, the decorative ornament takes architectural value in deciding the form of complete sets of furniture. From the mid 50s, Jean Royere, already present in the Middle East is expanding its activities around the world including Latin America.

His style settles down to move towards more simplicity, more rigor placing the line in the heart of his inspiration revealing more structured ornamental shapes, subtle served by precious materials to which he remained very attached. An instinctive sense of form, a fantasy combined with impeccable technique characterize his work constantly renewed by clever innovations: wire vine, raffia fringed tables, biomorphic furniture, fake pink or white fur etc. iconic designer 50s style full of humor, lightness translates into perfect, mind.
