Our single bed with headboard is crowned by the splendour of its large and masterfully designed headboard. The main area is cushioned in a superbly soft fabric, which bears a beautiful floral pattern, decorated in shades of purple, that is unique to the Matilda collection. Around the headboard is not one but two beautifully carved borders. The first is a simple design – small and elegant. However, the second border is a wonderful piece of sculpture: beautiful petals curve their way around the circumference, delicately interlocking. Both are finished in pure white. The frame of the bed is hand-built to last, using solid wood. When designing the Matilda collection, our artists looked to nature – the rose in particular – to recreate the beauty of its curving shape, the richness of its colours and its exquisitely soft form. Nature is also the inspiration for many of the fabulous materials: the downy chair coverings, the plush quality of the sofa and bench, and the soft eco fur trim of many different pieces. The result is an interior that envelops you in enchanting layers and rich ornamentation. Each piece is bespoke-made by craftsmen. Wardrobes and desks are built from solid wood, furnishings are hand-embroidered, and artwork is hand-made by artists using time-honoured techniques and equipment.
