Country House Oak Letter Box in the form of a Sentry box. Circa: 1896 Has a glazed door with a watercolour of a soldier from the Boer War, by famous military artist Richard Simkin. The Inside of the door features the famous Army & Navy store plaque. To the front of the box is a silver plaque which reads: Garrison Rifle Meeting, Gibraltar 1896 First officers, Ninth Open, Championships 5th V.B.S.W.B. Rifle competition 1900-1901 Second officers. This wonderful Antique Sentry Letter box is in superb original condition with untouched patination, nickel plated letter plate and has its key with gold and red tassel and fully functional lock.
