Sincerity

US$1,300,000.00

Designed by Vincenzo Baglietto, and built at his yard of the same name, Sincerity was built to Lloyds scantlings for Andrea Luigi Piccardo of Genoa as’ Janua’, and launched in August of 1928.
The Varazze yard of Baglietto later became famous for building good quality motor yachts. She had some success on the Mediterranean regatta circuit, and in 1938 was renamed ‘Ester VII’. In 1952 she was sold again, this time to the La Capitana company, and renamed ‘Mauciau II’. In 1970 she again changed hands, this time to the well-known Frech yachtsman and night-club owner Jean Castel. During this period she entertained much of Europe’s jet-set, spent some timerepresenting the French Americas Cup entry at Freemantle, and in 1978 saw ¨Princess Caroline of Monaco spend her honeymoon on board.
Sincerity remains one of the great cruising classics – dry and safe with her high bulwarks and full ends. Relatively easily handled with her Bermudian rig, she also benefits from a sensible deck layout, unique interior, and comfortable motion at sea.

SINCERITY is a rare pre-war classic yacht that is well maintained and has been kept close to original. She is teak on oak construction. The planking below the waterline was replaced in 1998. She is U.S. duty paid. SINCERITY is fun to sail and is a masterpiece of another era. She is seriously for sale and offers are invited.
