Wakatsuru Shuzou Sun Shine 20 Years Old Single Malt

US$419.99

This is a hidden gem single malt whisky, which was distilled over 20 years ago by Wakatsuru Shozou Distillery - one of the long established, but not well known Japanese distilleries. Wakatsuru Distillery obtained a license to distill whisky in 1953 and has been producing a small amount of whisky on and off since this time. Although some Ji-whisky companies would simply import unblended whiskies from Scotland, and then blend, bottle and sell them, this is a single malt whisky made at their own distillery.

Since the limited 20 bottles that were previously released have completely sold out, they decided to launch the second phase of Wakatsuru Sunshine Single Malt Whisky on 5 April, 2013\\. 500 bottles were made for sale, after their distillation in 1900, and bottling on 22 April 2013\\. The origin of the barley used is Britain.

Since the bottle is made of porcelain, you cannot see the inside, but this malt has a beautiful amber colour, with a rich bouquet. Owing to the high demand of highball and single malt whisky in Japan, the distillery decided to produce whisky again in 2013\\. The distillery is in Toyama - the capital city of Toyama Prefecture, Japan, located on the coast of the Sea of Japan in the Chūbu region on central Honshū - about 200 km north of the city of Nagoya and 300 km northwest of Tokyo
