This is a very nice & original military watch made by Cabot Watch Co (CWC) which was commissioned for the British forces (Ministry of Defence, MoD) that saw military service. This example is in all original condition with a brushed steel case & likely had the plastic crystal replaced sometime in it's lifetime. The case has been re-brushed and is in excellent condition without dents or major wear and profile is correct with thick lugs while the pin bars are solid steel rods welded onto the lugs to fit a Nato style strap. There are just some minor pitting on the thread area of the case back & back cover but nothing major and these military watches saw a lot of abuse during service. The movement is clean & works well. The dial & case back are marked with the "King's arrow", a symbol for the Ministry of Defence for the British forces. This watch has "6BB-924-3306" followed by "007/78" engraved on the back cover. 6BB denotes it as an issue by the Royal Air Force. "924-3306" is the Type under MoD specs & finally "007/78" is thought to be the units issued in 1978 so this watch is likely to the the 7th watch from the year. Original military chronographs like this are getting very scarce these days, especially to find one with an original dial & a professional overhaul of the movement alone costs well over S$400. Other online dealers are selling the same model between US$2200 to 3000 so our watch represents an exciting acquisition. 6 months limited warranty & not water or shock -proof.
