DETAILED PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A mid 19th century silver and gold diamond bracelet. A series of five graduated old-cut diamond floral clusters, inter-spaced by old-cut diamond scroll motifs, to the rose-cut diamond border. Accompanied by a leather folder from Kensington Palace containing a certificate of provenance signed by Viscount Linley. Later engraved with ownership mark of an initial 'M' beneath the Princess' Coronet. Approximately 15.00 carats of diamond. H.R.H. Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon is photographed wearing the bracelet when meeting the Beatles at the premiere of their film 'Help' on the 29th July 1965. Born on the 21st August 1930, Princess Margaret Rose was the second daughter of Prince Albert, Duke of York and Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon. Margaret was fourth in line to the throne until 1936, when her uncle Edward VIII abdicated to marry the American divorcee Wallis Simpson. Her father became King George VI, making Margaret second in line to the throne and younger sister to the new Queen of England, Elizabeth II. In her youth Margaret was considered a beauty, with an 18-inch waist and vivid blue eyes. She enjoyed a vibrant social life, often seen in the press at balls, night clubs and parties. The sale of this beautiful and historic bracelet offers buyers a rare opportunity to own a small part of the history of the most noble and illustrious family in the world.
