DETAILED PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a very old pre-Seamaster model that has no model name and clearly shows elements from the military models supplied to the British forces during WW2. The movement is derived from the original Calibre 30 named for it's 30mm width which is large for it's time and even now while many would be supplied to the military. It is simple, robust and beautifully finished. This watch will last many decades to come as long as you maintain it well. Another sister watch to the one that we've just listed but this has a de-luxe dial with applied WG markers. This lot among others were purchased years ago and we have to carefully curate them through hundreds of pieces from our supplier with many rejected and only the best are selected. These are beautiful examples with original dial & hands that have patina and very difficult to find now. The movement is in excellent condition then serviced and case polished but you can tell that the watch was never abused to begin with as the profile is good with thick lugs and excellent back covers that are free from deep gauge marks that we so often see. The radium applied over the hour indexes has aged and fallen off on some parts which is perfectly normal while those on the hands have blacken and makes time reading easier. The applied WG Omega logo comes from an early era with a slimmer and sexier profile unlike the modern one. The case though polished, shows remnant of an old mark @ 8 o'clock on the case band but barely visible unless you scrutinse. The back cover and locking thread area are virtually free from any corrosion, unbelievably clean for a nearly seventy years old watch. A wonderful watch that keeps decent time and a conversational timepiece over coffee with your friends. Go find a more appealing strap & you'll have a winner. Wearing a vintage watch has a rich appeal that modern mega-priced watches will never achieve.
