This open face pocket watch by Rolex was made for the Swiss retailer C. Bucherer and signed above Rolex, a practice that was later abandoned and retailer's names were printed below Rolex. Hence, this watch is signed as C. Bucherer's Rolex with an apostrophe which is rather unusual. The watch is in very original condition and untouched for decades. The dial in brushed yellow gold is nearly perfect except for a dimple near the 11 o'clock marker likely due to the dial legs that attaches to the movement. The hour markers are gold gilt in daggers which is repeated again for the small seconds divisions but printed in black with double bars for 12. The gold gilt hands are original. Movement is in very good condition showing some wear to the nickel on the balance cock and there's no visible scratches to the plates which means careful maintenance over the ages. There is a worn mark on the inside of the bow (ring) above the crown probably due to wear caused by a chain it had in earlier life. There is light brassing to the edge of the back cover due to wear but nothing serious and common for gold filled cases. A triple signed Rolex.
