Datejusts in white gold are very rare birds. And when they come with the beautiful glossy, black gilt dial they really make incredible watches. They were mostly ref 1601, although very few sapphire crystal ref 16019 do exist. Here is a beautiful example from 1964.
Case – 18K white gold, fluted bezel, excellent condition.
Movement – Automatic, Rolex caliber 1560
Dial – Black gilt, rhodium background, flawless.
Band – Suede leather strap by JP Menicucci, Italy. Rolex s/s buckle.
