Catch the light with this unique locket brooch. Type of jewel: brooch Condition: very good Style: Vintage Era: ca. 1940 Material: 18K yellow and details in white gold (acid tested) Extra information: Besides a brooch, this is also a locket to be opened from the back. The previous owner has changed the glass for a triplet opal.Diamond: 14 single cut diamonds (also called English-cut, 8-cut or 8/8, a sort of simplified brilliant cut) with an estimated weight of ± 0.40ct. (colour and clarity: G/I, si/i). All diamond weights, color grades and clarity are approximate since the stones were not removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting. Precious stones: One triplet opal with an estimated weight of ± 13.15ct. Treatment: a triplet is a man-made three-layered plaque of a real opal placed between a black back and transparent quartz front. Birth and month stones: Diamond is the birthstone (or month stone) for April and opal for October. Hallmarks: No trace.
