18TH CENTURY LONGCASE CLOCK BY JAMES CAWFON OF LIVERPOOL

18th century longcase clock by James Cawfon of Liverpool with eight day movement. The Swan neck pediment with boxwood dental moulding within with eglomise panels above the two brass finials. The painted dial with phases of the moon depicting a sailing ship, the world showing New Holland rather than Australia*silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals. Boxwood dental moulding above the door of wonderful flame mahogany. The quality of the mahogany being of the finest as befitting of a Liverpool clock maker.

James Cawfon watch and clock maker was shown at 117 Park lane in Gore's directory of Liverpool and its environs in 1816.
