A VISTA ALEGRE PORCELAIN CHESS SET.This is one great chess set with a design drawn from a famous historical context. Made in porcelain by Vista Alegre of Portugal. Gorgeously decorated - the white bishops have a 5 o’clock shadow! Relive the battle over control of the Iberian Peninsula with the Christian Crusaders vs. the Muslim North African Berbers. Each piece has been hand painted on the bottom and the VA Portugal mark. They are weighted with lead shot sealed with wax. The set is in excellent condition.
