DESCRIPTION

Antique late 19th Century French solid silver & hand-painted enamel cup and saucer, cup hand-painted depicting an exceptionally Romantic scene: a lady and gentleman dressed in 18th century clothes walking the dog hand in hand, in beautiful natural surroundings, the side panels of the saucer painted with miniature landscapes, on pink and gold ground. The rims applied with silver mounts to prevent chipping the enamel.

Hallmarked with French silver boar mark (800+ standard), Makers Mark (unknown).

CONDITION

In Great Condition - general wear and a few small hairline cracks in places.
