ANTIQUE 19thC GERMAN SOLID SILVER-GILT & PORCELAIN CUTLERY SERVICE c.1800

DESCRIPTION

Antique early-19th Century German solid silver-gilt & porcelain cutlery service, comprising: twelve spoons, twelve forks and twelve knives, the spoons each with reeded border and trefoil scroll top, the four-pronged forks and scimitar bladed knives decorated in similar style, judging by the quality the porcelain handles they are probably made my Meissen, the gilt heightened porcelain cannon shaped handles painted in the imari palette with under glaze blue scrolls, pink and red flowerheads and green leaves, enriched in gilding and with a button terminal, contained in a contemporary fitted mahogany case. Hallmarked with German silver pseudo marks (900+ standard), Hanau, Maker Unknown.

In Excellent Condition - No Damage.
