DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century Imperial Russian solid silver & niello enamel large cigarette case, parcel gilt, each side decorated with a niello enamel decoration, the cover depicting view of the Kremlin surrounded by flowers, reverse with a vacant cartoosh for owners initials, the sprung hinge is very tight and kept closed with an overlapping hinged latch. Hallmarked Imperial Russian silver (84, for 875 silver standard), Moscow, Assay master B.C (Victor Savinsky, active 1859-1894), Maker Unknown.
