This is an antique prie dieu dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.


- Raised on turned front legs and swept rear, all riding upon the original brass castors, this attractive chair is framed in rosewood contrasting beautifully with the cream needlepoint upholstery.

- Traditionally stuffed, the seat pad is in good order decorated, along with the back panel, with a rich tapestry of flora and fauna in mellow pastel shades.

- The barley twist stiles rise into blind fret, carved brackets beneath a scrolled, carved crest rail. The plain finished back panel making it ideal for centre room placement.
