Superflex
Transfer of Work
2013
20 golden invoices and studio

This work that has no purpose other than representing work, yet it models the process of labour and the production of value. The bills are portraits of superflex that in the process of transfer become a values escalating machine that again portray the art world and its mechanisms. In crisis gold is the source that is solid - one momentary stop block for financial speculation. It is a value escalating machine. It is a transfer of work and the production of a new art work.

The wording on the bills describe the production of superflex practise, their conflicts with intellectual property law through bills paid to lawyers who defend superflex in ex. a dispute with La Chemise Lacoste S.A. a bill from a signmaker producing banners for the press conference to announce the ambition for Palestine to become a participant in the Eurovison song contest, a bill from a Architect making design for the project Powertoilet/UNESCO installed in a park in Gwangju/S.Korea, a bill from a french producer working on the project “Prouve made in Africa” to produce 20 copies of Prouvé chair “Cafeteria” in Congo-Brazzaville, or bill from a hypnotist performing in the film “The Working Life”
-
The installation uses invoices/bills that are completely worthless in its current format, they are document´s that represent value but in fact is of non-value any longer - devoid of actual value, with the transfer through new labour and production a new circle is started that restarts a machine of artistic production influenced and driven by commodity fetishism - the new original artwork.
