ANCIENT PLEISTOCENE ERA MAMMOTH TUSK ON STAND 12,000 BC
US$51,705.80
### DESCRIPTIONDating to the pleistocene era (between 12,000 and 2.5 million years ago), this top quality Siberian woolly mammoth tusk (Mammuthus primigenius) is in immaculate condition. This tusk was recovered from the Siberian permafrost in recent years and has been restored only from the outside with a thin layer of transparent wax (a standard procedure to prevent it from cracking). Measuring an impressive 290cm along the curve and weighing in an astonishing 42kg, this tusk would have belonged to a male mammoth. It has not been injected with resin or put into pressure chambers. The restoration work on this tusk is less than 1% and is as close as it gets to perfection. The patina, structure and colour variations on this tusk are incredible, a beautiful piece ready to adorn any home, office or library.**Please note that our interior pieces are located at our Interior Design Showroom in Northamptonshire, if you wish to see them in real life please contact us to arrange an appointment.** ### CONDITIONSympathetically restored to perfection### SIZECurve: 290cm Height: 157cm Width: 137cm Depth: 92cm Weight: 42kg
