The woman is depicted while holding a broom in her hand, with a foot leaning on a stone. All on a square ebonized base (of a later date).This characteristic figure dates back to the late 18th century, it was finely sculpted with great skill in southern Germany and belongs to the cycle of sculptures made of ivory or ivory and boxwood depicting beggars and ragamuffins, typical of the era in that area. In good condition with minor cracks on back and patina due to ageing.Dimensions: height 11 cm - base 5 cm. Overall weight: 127.8 g. Southern Germany - circa 1750/1800. Buy safely.
