In this painting the light is very equal, neutral. You can hardly see its origin. The indanthrone blue and burnt sienna form a delicate balance in colour tone and material expression. From very thin watery layers to lines and rectangles that seal off the surface, they emphasise the contrast between the solid material expression of the concrete buildings and the smooth implication of the painted surfaces. People are present, but they play a minor role compared to the scale of the buildings and their rhythmic structure.
