German artist Rosemarie Trockel takes on perception and color theory in _Falling Blue, Rising Red_. This pair of heliogravures is the result of the oldest procedure for reproducing photographic images, a two-step process of etching the image onto a copper plate and then printing the image onto paper using inks. Here, Trockel foregoes the image for color. The title also suggests how the viewer perceives the piece, as blue inevitably recedes and red begins to protrude.
