The butterfly in this piece appears to be imbued by the magical effect of the black diamond dust as it literally escapes the confines of its frame. The monarch butterfly is truly an iconic butterfly in the Americas that seasonally travels from Mexico all the way to Canada, one can only wonder what effect the flutter of its wings may bring to us in the future. This piece can also easily be referenced to Burton's re-emergence from his recent battle with cancer. Just as the butterfly undertakes a huge transformation, so Burton's artwork is now instilled with even more life and vibrancy. ### ABOUT BURTON MORRISA lot has been written about Burton Morris and the fact that he was born in the same place as Andy Warhol, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but this fact sometimes distracts the reader from the real issue, which is......Burton Morris. In a world where artists are increasingly "delegating" more and more of their work to studio employees, it is so refreshing to find an artist who still believes in creating his own artwork in its entirety and Burton Morris is such an artist, a perfectionist.Burton's style is very simply, POP!
