A Victorian novelty tea caddy in the form of a miniature bowfront chest of two short over three long graduated drawers, the top inset with an oval inlaid shell motif with a stained green sycamore ground commonly known as harewood. The shaded effects on the shell are achieved by burning the timber with lighted matches.
Includes two small lidded interior compartments for two different types of tea, with ivory 'handles' and ivory turned feet.
