Dark red fruit, iron, tar, smoke, wild flowers and minerals are all wrapped aroud a serious intense, mid-palate and finish. Today the 2008 comes across as a bit tightly wound, but that is the personality of the year. The balance of fruit, structure and oak is superb. Layers of fruit flow through to the firm, authoritative finish. This is impressive juice. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028.
