Near the Craggan Mor, and Craggan Burn, lies the Cragganmore distillery. Known as a 'Classic Malt', as well as a coveted 'A1' malt by blenders, a brief visit to the still room may provide a clue as to what may contribute to its unique character. "Why on earth have the top of those two stills been hacked off?!" Presumably the distillery's founder, John Smith, knew all along the benefits that this outlandish shape, encouraging greater reflux, may bring. He definitely wasn't simply getting really annoyed that the top kept hitting the doorframe on the way in and then wouldn't fit under the low roof. Nope, not that.

Tasting notes:

Nose: Freshly baked sourdough bread, floral malt and light touches of sliced Jazz apples.
Palate: Milk chocolate, red chilli, tinned peaches. A few lingering grassy notes later on.
Finish: Buttered croissants and sherbet.
