Karuizawa is the gold standard of rare Japanese whisky, the distillery closed its doors in 2011 although it had not been producing whisky for over a decade then. This Karuizawa bottle is one of the most interesting release of the distillery. This very exclusive bottling was launched at department store Isetan in Shinjuku.

The bottle contains a dram from cask of five decades of Karuizawa. It was from the 1960s up to the distilleries closure in 2000, and it was then transferred into an ex-Karuizawa cask before being bottled in 2015.
