Hibiki, Japanese for resonance, was introduced in 1989 as a no-age expression, in honour of the 90th anniversary of Suntory. Later versions of 12, 17, 21 and 30 years followed but this 1st release is undoubtly the rarest of them all.

Suntory Holdings Limited is a Japanese brewing and distilling company group. Established in 1899, it is one of the oldest companies in the distribution of alcoholic beverages in Japan, and makes both best-selling and award-winning Japanese whisky. On April 30, 2014 Suntory acquired the largest U.S. bourbon producer, Beam Inc. for $16 billion USD. This deal has made Suntory the world's third largest spirits maker. Suntory is headquartered in Dojimahama 2-chome, Kita-ku, Osaka, Osaka prefecture.
