Hibiki, Japanese for resonance, was introduced in 1989 as a no-age expression, in honour of the 90th anniversary of Suntory. This is the 12-year old expression.

Suntory Holdings Limited is a Japanese brewing and distilling company group. Established in 1899, it is one of the oldest companies in the distribution of alcoholic beverages in Japan, and makes both best-selling and award-winning Japanese whisky. On April 30, 2014 Suntory acquired the largest U.S. bourbon producer, Beam Inc. for $16 billion USD. This deal has made Suntory the world's third largest spirits maker. Suntory is headquartered in Dojimahama 2-chome, Kita-ku, Osaka, Osaka prefecture.
