This is a hidden gem was distilled over 20 years ago by Wakatsuru Shozou Distillery, a long established but not the best known Japanese distilleries. Wakatsuru Distillery obtained a license to distill whisky in 1953 and has been producing a small amount of whisky on and off since then. Although some Ji-whisky companies would import unblended whiskies from Scotland and just blend, bottle and sell them, this is a single malt whisky made at the company’s own distillery. As the limited 20 bottles that were previously released have completely sold out, the company decided to launch the second phase of Wakatsuru Sunshine Single Malt Whisky on 5 April, 2013.
Only 500 limited bottles are released.
