Suntory Yamazaki is a 12-year old Single malt, currently the core bottle of Suntory's Malt range and, according to Michael Jackson, quite excellent. Introduced in 1990 as a Pure Malt but later upgraded to a Single Malt expression.

Suntory Holdings Limited is a Japanese brewing and distilling company group. Established in 1899, it is one of the oldest companies in the distribution of alcoholic beverages in Japan, and makes both best-selling and award-winning Japanese whisky. On April 30, 2014 Suntory acquired the largest U.S. bourbon producer, Beam Inc. for $16 billion USD. This deal has made Suntory the world's third largest spirits maker. Suntory is headquartered in Dojimahama 2-chome, Kita-ku, Osaka, Osaka prefecture.
